Horse Management Team Info

Assistant Horse Management Judges (AHMJ) are the eyes & ears for the Chief Horse Management Judge (CHMJ) and are key members of the Horse Management Team. It's a great way to interact with members and learn from them!

To join the team, you need to:

  • Be familiar with the Horse Management Handbook rules, Amplifications, and Safety Booklet
  • Have all volunteer requirements met such as Safe Sport, Background Check, etc.
  • Have a positive outlook in order to create a safe and educational environment
  • Encourage teamwork
  • View HM as a teaching opportunity (constructive evaluation)
  • Wear barn-appropriate footwear and dress the part (we are setting the example!)
  • Be aware of the discipline rules for tack fit, legality & adjustment
  • Be the eyes & ears for the CHMJ and document it properly
  • Encourage competitors to assume responsibility for the independent care of their mounts
  • Use and encourage practical thinking among competitors
